Victoria County WCID#2 Water System Improvements

A public meeting is being held on Monday, 6/29/2026 at 6:00 pm at 91 Preston, Placedo, TX 77977, to discuss the Victoria County WCID #2's proposed project to replace cast iron water lines with 2 to 8 inch PVC piping throughout the Placedo and construct a new 30,000 gallon ground storage tank (and develop an asset management plan) at the water plant in Placedo, Victoria County, TX. One of the purposes of this hearing is to discuss the potential environmental impacts of the project and alternatives to it. The total estimated cost of the project is $2,285,000.00. The estimated monthly bill for a typical resident is currently $75.38. A user rate increase is not expected to finance this project. An application for financial assistance for the project has been filed with the Texas Water Development Board, P.O. Box 13231, Austin, TX 78711-3231. An Environmental Information Document for the project has been prepared which will be available for public review at District office online at https://placedotxwcid2.org/recent-news and at 91 Preston, Placedo, TX 77977, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm for 30 days following the date of this notice.
